CORDIS HOTELS AND RESORTS COMMEMORATES FIFTH ANNIVERSARY WITH CHAIRMAN SUITE TAKEOVERS, SPECIAL LIMITED-TIME OFFERS AND A TRAVELLING SUSTAINABLE ART EXHIBITION

THE YOUNG LUXURY HOTEL BRAND ALSO MARKS ITS EXPANSION TO OVER FIVE LOCATIONS IN FIVE YEARS

(Hong Kong, 19 August 2020) – Cordis Hotels and Resorts, a collection of timeless five-star hotels, will celebrate its fifth anniversary on 26 August 2020. Inaugurated five years ago in the dynamic and cosmopolitan city of Hong Kong at 555 Shanghai Street, the approachable luxury hotel brand has since expanded across five locations – Hong Kong, Auckland, Shanghai, Beijing and Ningbo – with four more underway. Designed for adventurous guests and dedicated to heartfelt service, Cordis is located in the heart of our communities; the home away from home where guests can (re)discover the local neighbourhood. To commemorate this exciting milestone, Cordis kicks off High Five with Cordis, a months-long campaign that offers a suite of exclusive perks and experiences, including special limited-time offers, Chairman Suite or Private Villa takeovers as well as an Art in Residence travelling exhibition. “Cordis means ‘heart’ in Latin, which underscores the way we provide intuitive service, connectivity and an authentic sense of community to our guests, all of which are especially essential in a time of uncertainty,” says Stefan Leser, CEO of Langham Hospitality Group. “In commemorating Cordis’ fifth anniversary, we reinforce Cordis as the approachable luxury hotel brand that delivers heartfelt service and authentic local experiences and are excited to showcase that through our enticing packages and initiatives.” “Drawing on Cordis’ expansion to five locations in five years, as well as its inaugural address at 555 Shanghai Street in Hong Kong, we curated a collection of five exclusive experiences as well as $5,000 packages that offer unparalleled access to Cordis as well as the local neighbourhoods. To showcase these iconic scenes and landmarks at our destinations, we have also produced a short brand video to mark Cordis’ 5th anniversary, which we are excited to launch today,” says Shelley Tso, vice president of marketing at Langham Hospitality Group. “We are also looking forward to unveiling The Colours of Travel this October, a travelling recycled art exhibition that reinforces Cordis’ appreciation of local cultures and commitment to sustainability at every one of our destinations.” Stay and Give Me Five: Five Exclusive Experiences at Five Locations From 26 to 31 August 2020, guests can make bookings to enhance their stay (until 31 March 2021) with a curated selection of five experiences to explore the hotel and its vibrant destination. From wine tasting classes in Hong Kong, afternoon tea in Shanghai, to Maori performances at a museum in Auckland, a morning run at West Park with a certified trainer in Beijing and a Hanling Street tour in Ningbo and more, Cordis’ complimentary signature experiences will offer guests creative new ways to explore local districts. To further sweeten the deal, bookings made during this period will entitle guests to an upgrade to the next room or suite category, daily breakfast and specially-priced dining and spa offers. Stay and Give Me Wow: Top Suite Takeovers Elevating guest experience to the zenith, Stay and Give Me Wow features the best that Cordis has to offer. For $5,000 (in local currency), guests have the unique opportunity to book a stay in Cordis’ top suites and pool villas, coupled with a host of bespoke experiences and exclusive privileges to enhance the stay. At Cordis, Hong Kong, the HK$5,000 package includes a one-night take-over of the expansive 126m2 Chairman Suite, a dinner for two at the one Michelin-starred Ming Court as well as a relaxing treatment for two at the award-winning Chuan Spa. Taking luxury to a whole new level, the NZ$5,000 package at Cordis, Auckland features an indulgent two-night stay at the Presidential Suite, a five-course in-room degustation dinner for two, a bottle of Cristal champagne, a private helicopter ride to Waiheke Island as well as a winery tour with wine tasting, amongst a suite of amenities and services tailor-made to the guests. In mainland China, RMB5,000 will entitle guests to a luxurious one-night stay – along with dining experiences and spa treatments – at Cordis, Dongqian Lake, Ningbo’s Lake View Pool Villa; Cordis, Shanghai, Hongqiao’s Chairman Suite; and Cordis, Beijing Capital Airport’s Presidential Suite. Travelling Exhibition to Unveil in October 2020 Underscoring our commitment to sustainability and nurturing young talents, Cordis Hotels has collaborated with Chinese singer Huang Yali as well as Donghua University, the Shanghai-based institution that is internationally recognised for its fashion design and textile curriculum. This collaboration will see Huang as the project ambassador, as it borrows the concept of Huang's ongoing 'Light On Sustainability Project', which utilises old materials to recreate works and new memories. She joins the fashion students of Donghua University to breathe new life into textile waste from Cordis – including linen, bedsheets, towels, uniforms, etc – and turn them into innovative works of art. The Colours of Travel, a touring exhibition of these works, will open at Cordis, Shanghai, Hongqiao in October 2020. Curated by the professor and students of this Art in Residence programme and supported by Juneyao Airlines, the exhibition will subsequently travel to the rest of the Cordis destinations.
